Just wondering if it’s possible to run the log loader from the DCS with the AIU unit, and also run it from the switch that 's provided? Is there a way to be able to use either/or without rewiring when switching from one to the other? I think I read that somewhere, but not sure. Best Regards, Jake
Hello Jake:
I am not sure how the log loader is wired, but I have my turnouts, uncoupling tracks and operating track sections all wired through both AIU and manual switches and it does not present any problems. You can push either the manual button or the button on the DCS remote and the accessories work just fine.
Good Luck,
John O
Most of the accessories and switches can be wired to multiple activation points by parallel wiring, aka a local button, a console button, and AIU, or a Lionel ASC/SC-2. The only problems that might arise are when more than one person tries to activate the same thing at the same time.
Thanks much for the replies! I guess it will not matter what is wired in first, the AIU or the manual switch eh? From the loader to the manual switch to the AIU or the loader to the AIU to the manual switch? Only two wires coming from the log loader, one of the reissue deals from Lionel/American Flyer. Thanks again to all, Jake
