Just downloaded the new s/w fix, (I hope)
This is getting a little old now, three software fixes in a couple of months. Hope they got it right this time.
Hey Don, now there’s a 4.02a upgrade. It gets rid of “recover lost engine” in the remote set up menu. I think although I downloaded 4.02a I’m going to wait to change the remote from 4.02. Joe P.
Guess I will have to wait a little longer, the bugs in 4.01 haven’t bothered me yet, so I’m in no rush. Maybe wait till 4.09 or so.
I had a joke this second. Maybe I’d better hold off. My challenger’s at MTH. How’s their sense of humor doin’ right about now? Joe P.
That sounds good on paper but how do get the download to your TIU unit??
I never got the download from my computer so I will have to skip all new downloads until the DVD compatible version comes out!!

The first thing I’d say to do is download the instructions. On the protosound2 page there is a tutorial written by Dave H. that’s very good.
http://www.protosound2.com/ save this page! It’s good for future upgrades and info.

also load the instructions from MTH that lists the equipment
http://www.protosound2.com/dcsins.pdf
If you obtain the equipment the actual install is easy following the steps in the instructions. I’ve heard radio shack has a usb adapter if you don’t have the com port. Let me know if I can help further, Joe P.
I have done all that and more but the thing just won’t download from the computer to the TIU. Far as I am concerned the MTH upgrade is a hoax!!!

Lee, If I can help or get you the answers let me know. I could not get my remote backup to work at first, but it was really a computer problem. Computer compatability issues can get complex with security software controlling ports, etc. I can tell you that I’ve upgraded my system 3 or 4 times now for free and it works good! Joe P.
Joe,
What I know is this, the signal never got to my TIU unit, I did as the MTH instructions tell you to do; jumped off the TIU, connected the cable from the computer, powered up when told to or powered down when told to but the signal NEVER reached the TIU!
When you mention about controlling ports & stuff from the computer you may as well be speaking Greek! I don’t understand that garbage!

Lee, Not to make it any worse for you. Computers are my biggest hastle but now days there in everything. I really would consider taking your TIU and remote to a club, friend or shop that has their program running correctly. It only takes me about 15 minutes or so to upgrade so I guess I’ve been lucky. Joe P.
Joe, that is a good idea with one exception & that being I don’t know anybody else that has DCS locally or of any clubs nearby to West Palm Beach or Ft. Lauderdale area. Even the guys in Miami FL at ‘Ready To Roll’ (MTH headquarters for S.E. Florida) couldn’t give me any more advice and Mike Wolf(CEO of MTH) stops in there every so often. Was told they(Ready To Roll) might be able to help me with my TIU update in a couple of months for a fee.
Just got a new computer & maybe that will help me, soon as I get it hooked up to the internet, having DSL connection problems. Going to use this computer in a few weeks for files and photos.
