hey guys
i just hooked up my db150 as a slave to my existing booster dcs100. everything works ok.
except from going from the db150 section to the dcs100 section the dcs100 is shutting down.
going the other way to the db150 section is fine.
do i need to extend the booster short circuit time from 1/8th to 1/2 second or something else?
thanks

Glenn…
I’ll be interested in the replys here. I seem to be having the same problem which I posted several months ago.
I am running the same DCS 100 and DB 150s that you are.
I don’t ALWAYS have the problem but it seems to me that somehow ONE of the boosters is reversing the power to the rail (switching rails A-B) if I put the Digitrax test LED across an insulated joint it will light when it shouldn’t. I’m using Tony’s PS fours (one on each booster) for a total of 8 power districts.
Do we have to disable “make booster auto reverse” in the setup?
Thanks, ED
well i found out what was wrong .
it was human error. Come to find out the dcs100 wasn’t pluged in, to either the db150 or a panel. So i plugged it in to both. and disconnected. the db150 from a up5. So now the db150 and the dcs100 are connected to each other. and the dcs100 to a up5, and all is well.
Now could you hook up both together and the let the db150 go to a up5? or is the master to slave thing have to go in a certain order?
thanks
glenn
Simple:
-
Get some 6 conducter telephone wire with ends on them (Radio Shcak, Lowes etc)
-
Set the DB150 as a booster per instructions
-
Plug in the LOCONET (Item 1) cable from the DCS100 to the UP5 (on the back side NOT ON THE SIDE PORT but the back) Side port is for a computer feed and readback…
-
Plug the LOCONET cable from the UP5 to the DB150
-
INSTALL a reference ground from the “GROUND” on the DCS100 to the “GROUND” on the DB150.
If you want the BATTERY KEEP ALIVE function on the UP5 you MUST attach a wall pack to it.
Fire up the system and all should be well:
If you still have a short some of the DB150’s are wired WRONG by the factory. The Rail “A” and Rail “B” are swapped. You must compensate by changing your wires on the DB150 NOT the DCS100.
