Dead frogs

Had some rain during the night. Awoke this morning to a question from my wife did you turn your track off last night?.[V]
No I forgot. There were three dead frogs straddled across the tracks.[xx(] [oops]

She was not amused. Bit of a mess removing them.

Ian,
Tie this in with the other post, put the three frogs in series and your voltage should be down to an acceptable level!!
Cheers,
Kim

Frogacide! [:D]

Hmmm, does PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) know what you’ve done? Does PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) know? [:P]

I only have two words for those frogs: NATURAL SELECTION!

It probely would make a mess if you would run over the frog with a train, one big train wreck .[#oops][:(] , you have to track walk every morning before you run anything. ben

Time to call out the big hook!!

“on yer moonlit night you got your dead bullfrog…dead dog in the middle of the road, stinkin’ to high heaven!”

If you don’t remember that, you’re classified as a “youngster”.

Ian,
Nice to know conductivity is not an issue! Frog legs anyone??? Hmmmmmmm…a new business maybe? At first I figured you were having problems with your turnouts losing power…apparantly not eh. Later eh…Brian.

too funny… Did the fogs die of electrocution first or did they get smashed by the wheels? I wonder?

And to think people use to go through the trouble of “Gigging” them. Boy Ians got them beat

A few not so nice comments Ian;

  1. Queensland has a problem with Cane toads ( 6" to 9" long frogs) and the governemnt in its unique way has promoted the local habit of driving cane toads with a no 2 wood. This is an actual activity and promotion to get rid of them, TV adds and all. They are also trying to establish a height record for hitting them with a 7 iron. as well.

  2. I don’t know if anyone else has an add on TV where this kids mother say “and get rid of that spider” you see a spider in a bottle with a terrified look on its face, trying to prevent itself from being kicked out. This is not easy as i don’t think spiders have faces.

Well anyway I had the instance of my ICE train going through the pumphouse tunnel “at speed” and when it came to rest on the other side , there was a fair sized spider with a distinctly disgruntled stance, spread eagled across the nose of the ICE train. I think it must have been on its web in the tunnel and of course the tran came from nowhere and just took it withit. I wouldn’t have believed it if i hadn’t of seen it with my own eyes. Who says spiders don’t have feelings.

Lastly I don’t get into trouble for not turning my trains off, more for leaving my MTS reciever out.

The joys of garden railroading[^]

Maybe you need to install a frog viaduct! [:p] They actually did this in the western US…I think it was California. There is some rare species that had to cross a major highway as part of their routine. Needless to say lots of them were getting squished! So somebody had the idea to build an underpass for them. Not so here in Queensland, we are desperate to get rid of cane toads, they are an introduced species, with no natural enemies except man and they are spreading at an alarming rate southward from the tropical north, eating evrything in their path.

Rgds Ian

Run for your life! There’s no stopping them!

(Aren’t panic headlines fun?)

I didn’t think that was funny, this is a serious problem and I think that you have no brains.

Ian

Wellllllllllll guys,

Another good thread!

Read the header and right away I thought “They are handlaying turnouts!”. Hmmmm, usually powered frogs work better. [}:)][}:)]

@Ian

You need to lighten up, mate. Have another XXXX!

I tell you, you must be the exception in OZ. When we went touring down there people were so laid back I said: “Any more laid back and they’ll fall right back over!”
Speaking of cane toads: Do they swim? No!?! I’m sure the Tasmanians will like that. [:p][:p][}:)][:D][:D]

@ Torby,

I’m still waiting for the floor plan of the Asylum and the shop. Or did I miss it?!?[:o)][;)][:o)]

Sounds to me like another poorly planned amphibious attack gone horribly awry.[;)]

Mark

It remiands me of a scene from the cinematic classic… The Night of the Lepus!!!

Save, in that story it was giant killer rabbits!!!

HJ,

The asylum is a loop of track with a passing siding and one stub siding on the floor. Not particularly impressive, but it provides something going on while I work.

Now for the shop: http://www.gardentrack.com/facillity/facillity.html
