Deadly passenger train derailment near Paris

If this happened to Amtrak, Jeffery Guse would be all over this. This proves that it’s not only Amtrak that substitutes with buses when something happens to the railroad. Even places where the passenger rail is highly successful, such as in France and all of Europe, buses are used when rail is out of service.

According to the BBC, SNCF think that the accident was caused by a faulty point (switch) similar to what happened in Britain a few years ago when repairs were not carried out properly. Not a good two weeks for railways.
Another tragedy!

According to a BBC report, “Local media said a group of people had attempted to steal from the victims and rescuers shortly after the crash and threw stones at emergency workers as they tried to reach passengers.” Sounds as though the U.S. is not the only country in which the veneer of civilization can wear very thin during crises (as with Hurricane Katrina). How anyone could be so callous as to hinder a rescue operation is beyond comprehension.

Stealing from victims?? In Europe??? Every Liberal in this country will tell you that Europe is God’s Paradise on Earth.

One of the best article I’ve read about this accident, including the ones written in french news medias.
Congratulations to Keith Fender.
