Hi. Having read the topic last night on crew calling disputes, I cannot help but wonderhow railroaders deal with management during a dispute. Does the BLE and UTU help any? Do you just quote the rule book and leave it at that, or is therre arbitration? [?]
I’m sure there are a lot of people who would like to share their opinions and experience, but perhaps you should also post this post on the Trains magazine website; it gets numerous times more readers. [;)]
The history of management/ labor relations on railroads is very contentious with neither side having much faith or trust in each other. Many of the problems could be eliminated with some mutual courtesy. Unfortunately it probably won’t happen due to past issues and feelings.
