Decal Swap: Would you be interested

I think this would be a good thing.

Sure. I already swap decals or cars with others. The Private Roadname SIG encourages people to swap. And there are cars from Davies Steel, OS, V&O, CS purchased through the NMRA collectors series.

I would be willing to swap decals as soon as I start painting and lettering engines for my frelance line the Worcster Central.

GOOD MORNING:

I have been swapping decals since the mid 80’s and have been very pleased with the results. I only ask if it is an interesting line or trade mark. Most go on rolling stock, I’ve put them on box, stock, tank, and hopper cars. I’ve put two of them on lineside industries. I don’t know how far the “Almost Nothing” cars roam but I have traded as far away as HI (i’m in TEXAS). Don’t ask me what freighter that car went across on and why it wasn’t off loaded.

I tried swapping cars but found out that didn’t work because, your idea of a “good” car didn’t always agree with my definiation. The decals work so much better.

I have two of the old Train Miniature hoppers. One lettered for V&O and one for the Ohio Southern. They don’t really fit in with my modern timeframe, but I’ll figure out something to do with them. I’d be interested in swapping decals. I think it’s a pretty cool idea.

I like the idea.

the decal swap sounds interesting… I’m in. I’ve designed my own logo, however I have no idea yet HOW to have the decals made, WHERE to have them made, and HOW MUCH it would cost?
any ideas Fergie?
cheers

Several thread have indicated you can buy decal sheets at Walmart, I picked up a pack of Testor’ Decal sheet’s at my LHS, Once you’ve printed them off you’ll need to dulcote them. I have more research to do before I can print.

Regards

decal swap looks intersting, but swapping decals with me can cause serious problems I guess . . . [:P][:P]

GOOD MORNING ALL:

LUPO:

I had my decals printed by D & M decals from an ad in RMC. I paid for the art work to another supplier, when he decided to shut down he sent the art work to me. When I needed more decals I just called several companies and went with what I thought was the best. It was cheaper the second go round because my art work was camera ready. The only bad thing was the quanity that I had to order. Their is an ad in MR - Aug, 2004, page 30, middle column, top, for custom decals. Give them a call @(847)742-5404. (I don’t get a commission.) I found out that having a professional do it, gives you better results, after all, your decals are usually going out to other lines and that is your image.

[banghead] I’M SORRY:

That last reply should have been addressed to KRUMP

Still have a blessed day anyway and don’t forget the SANTA FE

Bob

no problem, and I took a look at my intermountain F3 set for you ( warbonnet)
so me too does not forget santa fé

Interesting idea.

I’ve had two runs of decals through Rail Graphics for The Hudson Valley Northern. So I have more than I would use in quite a while. Having some different road names could be fun.

BLACKHAWK04:

How did you get your emblem on the forum? I wanted to do that but I don’t know how. At 64 my attitude toward computers is: dumb, dha, dumb, dumb (to the tune of dragnet). For those of you that are less then 45, that was a great detective program on Television. At the space in time it was not called TV and not everyone owned one.
