Decals?

Hello,
This is officially my first post here! I have a quick question. I am doin a layout where my locomotives will jhave there own roadnames, kind of free-lanced. I was wondering if anyone could make decals, or if they know of a good company that makes them, hopefully not to expensive[:D]
Thanks!
Chris

Not too sure about companies, but (correct me if I’m wrong) you can print off yur own onto decal paper, if you have a good printer that does colour.

Welcome , try railgrphicsdecals.com, they do custom work, but I don’t know about prices.

There are a couple of long threads on this the last couple of days. I started one after trying some things. My conclusions is you can do it but they won’ l look any better than mine and you can’t do white. There are several segestions in the other threads. I have not tried them yet in that I can’t get my logo right yet either.

Here we go again… The last couple of weeks have produced a good series of discussions on this subject both on this forum and on the Atlas forum. The short of it is …yes you can make your own or you can have someone do them for you. there are several companies out there who do this type of work including me (although I don’t think I have ever done any for anyone on this forum) check the adds in MR or your favorite train mag and I am sure you will find some information on companies who do them. Rail graphics comes to mind as someone who is mentioned here from time to time.

Arthill, what trouble are you having with your logo?

I had a good experience with dry transfers from “Image Transfers”
They do custom work, will match any color you like and back it with white.
Never had any problems transfering. I think their website is www.imagetransfers.net

I went through the same problem a year ago. I tried to make my own decals but unless you have a printer that paints a white background for your ink the decals unless printed on white decal film will be transparent and on a dark background such as black or brown will not show.

There are several companies offering their services as advertised in MR. Unfortunately the company (GMC graphics) that did all my work has ceased operations as Gary did good work and I should have enough decals to last me a life time.
