to apply decals u should spray a gloss coat on then when dry add decals and then when decals are dry spray a dull clear coat on, this will give unit a faded-weathered look. You may also need some micro-sol. When applying decals you might get some bubbleing, use a brush and apply to decal rite after you put decal on, then when dry if you still have bubbles use a sharp and pointed xacto knife, poke a small hole in bubble and apply micro-sol, bubble will shrink up. Thats how I do it, maybe somebody will have a different way. have fun. Randy

One tip NEVER use Krylon clear spray from walmart as the dull coat. It will “melt” or dissolve the decals and that’s not what you want. One other tip, make sure you have fun!

Well, here’s where these sorts of forums get fun…

Noah, I paint semi-professionally, and I basically ONLY use Krylon dullcoat! I’ve used it over Champ, Microscale, Greg Komar, CDS and other decals, and have yet to have any melt! I prefer both the finish and the COST of Krylon clear flat finish over Testors dullcoat.

If anyone has any doubts, give it a try.
