December Coffee Pot. 11 years old. Wonderful grits and sweet ice tea for the southern gents. Coffee and yucky oatmeal for the Yankees

Sorry Buckeye, you didn’t make it this time.

Prayers for RT.

Enjoy a month of Christmas.

Good morning from Buckeyeland, where life is good after this last weekend’s victory.

I was out east during Thanksgiving and attended the Edison, NJ train show. Great show with many of the big names displaying.

Joe…I’m still planning on the Springfield Show this Sunday.

Finally bought the materials to build a layout. Hoping I don’t run into any snafus like I usually do. Just happy that I’ll finally be off the floor.

Morning all from wet and cool (mid 40’s) Southern Ohio

I forgot a new pot is on so I’ll paste this over!

I’m off till Friday and I’ll be on dayshift over the weekend.

Drove the kids to school and going to start decorating.

Fife - I love the Marx Freight station! The graphics are sooo cool and worth the footprint it takes on a layout. I’ve been trying for one for some time and I was bidding on one the other day that had the ramp and all the accesories but it went for over $200; well above my limit.

Jim - I would sure like to help on your projects! You’ve got some really nice steamers. The 312 & 322 are some of my favorites. You’ve got to love the SIT. It is so neat to hear and see the smoke coming from the loco sitting still. Is yours the bellows or piston drive SIT? Looked but never scored on the 325K.

I’m going to try and figure how to post pics using the MAC we now have, and share some of the old p

The chief was awake for a change. No rain just drizzly. 50s today.

Aloha. Sunny and warm!

tinplate, the snafus are part of the fun! Good luck.
Fife and Sturg, I am a Marxist! I have to look out for more 74 semaphores. I have the Oak Park and Girard stations that are very nice-looking.

Tue 72 Wed. 78 Thur. 73 its real cold at night.

In the days before digital TV and the new high definition TV when you got a new TV it was just a replacement, not a improvement, you got a new TV because your old one quit.

When I changed from the old fashioned box type 27” TV with a box that converted digital TV signal to analog so my old TV would work to the new technology 49” digital high defination TV I expected from 27” to 49” to be a substantual difference. But I didn’t realise what a big improvement in picture quality, its been a few months now and I’m still amazed.

Howdy all!

Cold and wet here. With additional cold and wet expected tonight into tomorrow. At least it’s not snowing.

Had to drop Linda’s car off at my mechanic’s this morning. Went to drive it, and it’s full of all the stuff she put in there before we hosted Thanksgiving. What? She was supposed to take this all to storage. Most of it was the empty boxes for the Department 56 and Lemax set she, Tyler and Corey did in 2 different areas. So I ended up unloading that car into the two other cars in the rain. Fun. If I had known last night I could have done it then. When it was dry.

Hoping to get more of the garage cleaned out and set up. The Salvation Army is supposed to pick up that brown couch on 12/11 - that thing takes a lot of room, it’s 38x70. And it’s heavy! This weekend I need to hound Linda to come down and work with me on clearing out everything between it and the garage door, because if we don’t, sure as shootin’ we’ll be doing it the night of 12/10. I know her too damn well.

Anyway, have a good one!

The bellows were prone to cracking but they can be repaired. I’ll look for the how to do it. Right off hand I’m thinking it was a kit from Portlines.

The AF has an appeal in Being somewhat smaller it can take up less space but still big enough to be real toys

Good morning all,

Got a bill yesterday from Hertz rental car company for a one day rental back in July. It was supposedly paid for by Honda when my car was in for service. Hertz says they were never paid by Honda so they have to bill me. To add insult do injury, I got out my paid bill from Honda and see where they charged me for the “free” car rental so if I pay Honda now, I will be paying double. Got call in now for Honda but no answer yet. When these things go South, they seem to keep on going.

Son hauled out our artificial Christmas tree today and I will decorate it if/when the spirit moves me or when I find time. Doubt if I will put up outdoor lights this year.

Visiting nurse came to see my wife today and was alarmed to find a large bruise from the surgery site and going down her leg below the knee. Called doctor and he says it’s common for these types of surgeries to bruise even days later like hers. We will see him today. I was concerned that it might be a blood clot but they say no because lack of other symtoms. Yogi was right! “It ain’t over til it’s over”.

Dodgers have a new manager announced today on TV. USC has a new permanent coach who had been the interim coach. Vin Scully says next year will definitely be his last with the Dodgers. Maybe the Dodger organization will get their act together and settle the tV problem by next season so all of us can see Vin’s last season. Now only about 40% of fans can get the games on TV thanks to greed/bad public relations, bad mangement ad infinitim. P.S. Kobe Bryant announced his retirement but will play out the season. Don’t understand that one. His terrible current play is hurting the team.

RT update.

I got a call from his wife. His surgery to fix the defib. will be Thursday. He is doing well and anxious to get er done.

Afternoon All !

Nice and cool out (39*) when I go for my morning walks of late, really feels good. Now if I can just get rid of this shortness of breath stuff.

SJ, Did RT’s betterhalf say what the issue was, battery or lead failure ? Mine is supposed to be good for at least seven years. We shall see. Hopefully my bedside monitor will tell the cardiac unit that it is in need of work before it creates issues for me.

Talked to our IT guru and the webcams will be accessible thru our website on Friday and Saturday til 9PM pacific time. Pop in and take a look-see.

Now the big decision for Saturday : long trains of scale stuff OR lots of Christmas cars with all the toy like amenities I can find. [:-^]

Jim, The request that I received was for Sugar Cookies, one of my favorites. These things come out so light and airy that they just melt in your mouth. [dinner]

Well time to get back to work.

Later all.

P.S._Jim, if you want the recipe I’ll e-mail it to you.

Dougdg the imformation I got was that it was a lead issue. He said a warning signal went off in his chest and it was the defib. He is getting antsy to get out of the hospital but they postponed his surgery a day due to schedule problems.

Jim,

The bellows haven’t cracked, they’re just stiff to the point that the motor strains.

Oh, Tom Barker brought out another book, which is excellent.

Hey,

Hi Guys, Just got in, Have not even looked back at the posts, so I will tomorrow. Hope you all good to go.We had a great time in the north woods but my VWF kind of hurt me being outside to long. But I made it. Saw a cool black bear and three Bucks were taken, the rule is nothing under 6 points. It worked this year.

JimmyT [Y]

RT, [angel] prayers man, you know how I feel.

Evening all!

Not much to report here. Sun supposed to appear tomorrow. Forgot what it looks like.

Continued [angel] for RT and those in need.

Have a great evening all!

Good evening all,

Good day at work, better than expected. Went for my longest walk in a while. Need to get legs back into shape (a phrase I never thought I would use…) Watched Flash and Izombie tonight. Wife and I got the ornaments on the tree tonight as well. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

When I rearended a pickup with my Integra GSR it bent the metal crossmember the hood latch is on back. My neighbor had a old big heavy pickup in front of my house with a strong trailer hitch. I tied a log chain my dad had and I have had all these years and to the crossmember I wanted to pull forward on my Integra and to his trailer hitch

I was plenty apprehensive about this but a few good yanks and it pulled the hood latch forward so now the hood closes properly and latches. It bent it down some but with a bumper jack I was able to bend it back up. I’m really happy to get this straightened out. Tomorrow I’ll put the nose back on, not easy.

Today I saw something I had heard about but never seen. Its like a DUI police checkpoint but this is a smog check. They direct cars to portable rollers to check your car. This was in my town, I was going the other way and it looked like they weren’t doing any checks right then.

Mornin’ boys. Soggy and 50 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Wifey and I are gonna hang out today, and possibly go see 007. Took grandson to Klein’s yesterday, and he fell asleep so I had to carry him around the store. Kid is dead weight when he snoozes. My shoulder is sore. Did pick up North Pole water tower for our layout, and the Beth Steel water tower for the nephew.

redfire - Very nice of you, but it can wait. Actually see them frequently at YORK. Thanks anyhow.

Phish - Actually added a wood plank floor to my freight station to knock out the shiney big brick litho. I will use it to separate my Dept 56 wagons from the trains. Maybe post some pics on SPF once I get organized.

[angel] for rt, dbaker’s recovery, 88’s princess, Buckeye’s innerds, and anyone else in need.
