DECISION!

With the recent thread about the Modoc Railroad Acadamy and the National Acadamy for Railroad Sciences, I have finally made my decision. On-Line Training Center, my current employer is not going to get me anywere. Working in education is not my thing.

I have decided to go to work for the railroad! I am currently filling out a student loan to go to NARS. I chose NARS because of its location, not to mention My brother lives about 2 and a half hours away in Manhatten Ks, and 4 hours away from my current home.

I decided on NARS because it looks way more professional than Modoc. With NARS, you learn everything that you need to know, and you work with the latest technology. With Modoc you learn with Aging, retired equipment. Not to mention that I can go home over the weekend!

I hope to make it in the railroad world!

Wish me luck on this endavor!

BEST OF LUCK BUDDY!

NARS is the BNSF training center so it should be more professional.

I know several good railroaders who went to NARS and hired out with BNSF, CSX and AMTK.

LC

good luck in your endeavor.

Jim I’m going to side with everyone else here when I say Good Luck and God Bless.

I was thinking about applying to NARS after I graduate from my current college now, this May. I hear they are pretty good, even a tad bit better than Modoc. I also hear the University of Illinois has a good Railroad Engineering program. I am currently looking into that. However, the Univeristy of Illinois isn’t going to be a furgal endevor, I’ll have to ask mom for help with that one, I’ll also end up getting a student loan.

Good luck Jim

Good luck, Jim.

Jim,
Good Luck in your new Carreer Choice.

I also wish you much success with your career choice. Please email me when you hire on with a railroad. Give me a list of any firearms and other hunting supplies you may have,as well as a list of any fishing equipment you may have and I’ll make you a reasonable financial offer for these items. You will no longer have time to use this stuff and it would just be in your way.
Again, good luck!

I’m not making any statements on the NARS vs. Modoc debate, but I do wish you good luck on you railroad career endeavors [:)].

The best of luck to you Jim, may you succede!

Good Luck, JIm…

Just wonder if you had looked at the program for Railroad jobs over at the Johnson County Community College in KC? I have been told they have a pretty strong program there supported by the AAR.

Sam

Best of luck, Jim!!

FYI the NARS program we have been discussing is the JCCC program you are talking about as well. Same one.
