Decoder for 44 tonner

Does anyone have any recent info on installing a decoder (and the type of decoder) in a Specturm H.O. 44 tonner (single motor)? I have read the older posts but wonder if there may be other decoders and installations that have been done with success. What is the possibility of sound for such a small engine? Thanks for any help provided.

For sound, the LokSound micro will fit with the speaker provided in the roof of the cab.

For non-sound, a Digitrax DZ125 will fit nicely.
