DecoderPro

Hi Guys,

Can I use Decoderpro to automatically run trains? If so what sensors etc do I need?
I’m using Lenz set 100 and have the computer interface going.
Thanks, Ken

Technically the answer is no. Decoderpro is an application for programming decoders from a PC. However, Decoderpro is just on application that makes up the suite of software apps under the JMRI name. For example there are applications for turnout control, signalling and routes. You can also write scripts to automate the layout. http://jmri.sourceforge.net/apps/Automation/ I have no experience ot this, but it looks like you will need to know something about programming in Java.

Ken,

There are other software programs from JMRI that will allow you to run the trains. Do you have an interface to connect the Lenz to the computer?

Look at the PanelPro component of JMRI. You will need block occupency sensors and the Lenz interface to connect those to XpressNet. You will also need accessory decoders to run your turnouts. PanelPro creates control panels,. but there is also scripting to automate things. If you aren’t already on the JMRI Group on Yahoo, I suggest going there - others are already doing this sort of thing and everyone is more than willign to help out.

Thanks guys, Yup I have all the hardware working for decoder pro, it’s cool ay?

I’ve been tinkering with panelpro so I’ll have another look.

Thankyou, Ken.
