Delivery date: BLI UP 4-12-2?

Anyone here what’s up with the BLI Hybrid UP 4-12-2? They had a delivery date originally slated for Dec 30th. Has there been a delay?

Well, Tony’s Train Exchange says delivery date was supposed to be early 2010, so there has obviously been a delay –

All I could find on Broadway Limited’s web site is that they are still taking advanced reservations.

which indicates to me that it may never see the light of day at the price they’re asking.

BLI recently put up pictures of the painted models, so it can’t be too long now. I would expect a few months.

It costs the same as the MTH 4-12-2, but it comes with better detail, no articulation, and it’s all brass and diecast. I wonder which one will outsell the other?

There have been two delays on this model, the last postponing it to next month. BLI should be updating its delivery schedule posted on its website under that name in the marquis. Personally, I would be surprised to see this much before June.

Thanks guys. I suspect looking at the detail the BLI is a better deal, though the 3rd and 4th axle are blind. When i ordered it through my LHS there were no Unmarked versions left at Walthers. So I suspect they are just about all spoken for.

Knowing BLI, they’ll probably give flanged drivers with each model as optional parts, but I would guess they couldn’t take less than a 36" radius.

Well Darth! Aren’t you the life of the party [(-D]

I say that in jest as I just did some major track work and widened all the 22" radius to 30" to allow for the bigger engines. One’s work never seems to be enough does it?
