The shop I usually get my railroad equipment from 1st notified me of Broad Way Limited issuing the PRR T1s & M1s in August of '02, & I told him I’d take one of each. Per our usual ‘agreement’, he asked for no money up-front, and ‘assured’ me I’d be called when he received them.
That was 14 months ago, and when I ask him, “Where’s the locomotives?”, he tells me they’ve not been shipped, yet I see ads in magazines, saying some places have the T1s & M1s in stock!
What gives; have these NOT been shipped-out yet, or should I begin looking for another hobby-vendor?
Part of the problem may be the three-month lead time for ads in the hobby magazines. A manufacturer may have to gamble on whether to hold off on publishing an ad until he’s sure he will have product to ship, or buy the ad space and hope that his product will be available when the ad is published.
