I offered to scratch build the Osier Section house for a friend with an On3 layout. There was a lot of back and forth about which color to use (at various times it has been brown, white, and gold and brown). He has selected the D&RG yellow and brown scheme. I don’t model this road so do not know just which paint color to select. Is there a prototypical color out there? Do I need to mix up something to get the proper gold/yellow tint? Is the brown pretty much a dark brown? Do you think it should be muted or thinned down to almost a wash to avoid that “painted this morning” look? Any color or painting suggestions would be welcome. By the way, I am using basswood clapboard siding as the basic building material.

I believe Poly S still has both colors D&RGW Brown and D&RGW Yellow. I used these colors on my buildings I built in G scale years ago.
