Denver Great Train Expo

Morning all,

Took my 4 year old and two of his friends to the Denver Great Train Expo yesterday. We all had a good time. It wasn’t as crowded as the show back in February. The layouts were great. We all really enjoyed the lego one. I did get some great deals on some Con-Cor Flat cars with trailers. Only $9 each. Also bought my first Accurail Kit. Put it together last night. Really nice kits, so I will start looking at buying more.

Dang, I missed it! Where was it held at? I didn’t see any advertisements about it when I was at Caboose Hobbies the other day.

It was held at the national western complex. It’s also being held today so you might have time to make it.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Personally I was very disappointed. Very few vendors, and usually the November show is the big one.

My young children would have been right behind you when you were looking at the Lego trains. They had 6 modules set up in the HO layout there. My older daughter was at the horse show on the lower level under our feet!

My club was also there. The layout with out ropes and backdrops so that you can walk right up close to either side of it.

I agree - I was slightly disappointed as well. February seemed to be better. Hard to put my finger on it, but this one felt a little “low-rent”.

However, there is no such thing as a bad model train, IMO, so I had a good time anyway. Met a lot of nice people talking to them about our layout (both the modular there and the permanent downtown).
