The hint should have been last year’s Hawkey Express trains… this has been brewing since 2001 when it really started hemoraging cash.
Unfortunate and sad that this had to happen, but I guess it’s just another casualty of these really bad economic times we’re experiencing. Hope they somehow manage to save the cars and those nicely painted F40’s.
Jim, according to the article the “train operation” is being moved to Canada-specifically, the Algoma Central. I read on another board they are updating equipment and this is a source for them. Not sure about the locos.
Sounds like CN purchased the F40s and the cars for service on the Algoma Central. It would make sense since CN is using freight engines on the Algoma Central trains.
