Depot Diner & Coffee Shop

Locomutt and I just finished eating some chicken fried rice for supper.
Our meal of it got postponed until tonight. Sure was good: we haven’t
had it for awhile.

Hmmm. I love rice. I could eat it everyday.

Normally I do, but I was busy all day and as of the time on this post I am about ready to hit the sack. The neat thing about retirement is you can sleep all day and still collect a check everry month.

Well, it’s 1:59 a.m. Sunday morning, and I can’t sleep. This doesn’t happen
to me very often. Guess I’ll start a pot of coffee, and start making up
biscuits for breakfast, since I’m the only one in here. At least I have all the
train layouts on to keep me company. Walt is sound asleep, and so are
the cats and dog. [V]

What is this then ? I never remember anything about grand ma getting run over by a reindeer. I thought it was Grandpa got run over by a beer truck.

Joe, we’re supposed to be in “freezer” in a day or two, according to what I
read in today’s paper. finally went back to sleep somewhere around
7 a.m. Hope I manage to sleep tonight.

As promised, dinner/supper will be fried chicken, mashed potatoes,
green beans, biscuits, gravy (to put over potatoes), and corn on the cob.

Dessert will be: cobblers (apple, cherry and peach). And have plenty
of ice cream in the freezer to put on top of the cobblers.

Hey everybody guess what I get to do on Monday?? I FINALLY GET TO GO BACK TO WORK !!! [:D] Same line of work ( diesel engine mechanic ) but new company, Valley Power Products out of City of Industry Ca… They have opened a store in W. Sacramento Ca. It’s about a 45min commute but the way I’ll go there will be no traffic. I’ll be working on a lot of exotic diesels that nobody wants to play with, one is from Austria and is about the size of an EMD. I might even get a 3wk all expence paid trip to Austria to attend a school on them.[:D][8D] We will also will work on EMD stationary and marine applications.

As for my finger and hand, the finger will never work again [:(!] but my hand is slowly getting stronger.[:)] So wish me luck and I’ll be thinking about all of you since I’ll be only 100’ from the mainline between Sacramento and Oakland.

TTFN[:D][8D]

CONGRATULATIONS Marty,and very good luck.[:D][:D]

for all of us!!! (well,be sure and do great in school first)[:D][:P]

Congratulations Marty!! Best of everything for you. Know you will do
well in the school. And as locomutt said, hope you bring back pictures
to share with us all. You ready for a big ole plate of fried chicken with
all the trimmings?

Meatloaf and potatoes for dinner tonight. Nice leftovers tomorrow for lunch.

Tom, that must have been your supper at home: I only fixed the fried chicken
at the diner. But meat loaf doesn’t sound half bad, either!! Guess I’d better
fix that tomorrow at the Diner so Mookie can have some!

N o r o o m f o r m o r e f o o d ! ! ! Too many parties this weekend. In recovery mode rest of week - eat light and make space for holiday dinner.

Drove to Southern Tier in light mist, drove home in remnants of snow on wet roads that always had the possibility of going icy. No fun!. Snowing now, but not sure how much we’re gonna get.

Larry, I’ll make sure I have plenty of salads made up for you this week.
Glad you made it home safely.

YUM! That fried chicken was to die for! Gravy, taters, corn…MMmmmm, gravy, taters, corn…

Thanks, CW.

The Chicken, of course!
