Does anybody know anything about a derailment in Michigan? My company has several offices in western Michigan that have been offline all day due to an apparent derailment taking out a fiber optic line.

no word here from Mich…my guess would be weather related…power outages and such…there is a Michigan RR site and theres nothing said there…

Just before leaving work yesterday, I heard that it was actually in Iowa where the wreck happened that took out the fiber optic lines affecting our offices in Michigan. I’m just surprised that a break in AT&T’s lines in Iowa would be affecting our western Michigan offices. I would think they would have redundancy in their lines to bypass breaks or something.
