Derailment in Sailsbury,NC

Yesterday a NS train was coming from Sailsbury and derailed next to the Yadkin River Bridge 6 engines 18 cars derailed one of the engines was a standard cab SD70 nobody hurt or killed 17 of the cars were covered hoppers and the other one was a gondola also the train was NS 166

Fond memories of Salisbury, NC. Back in 1976 while on a college basketball road trip to Catawba College, the coach let me take the college vehicle railfanning. I went uptown to the depot and got shots of probably 10 trains in the afternoon.

That night I scored 37 points and 15 rebounds.

The 10 trains in one day and the 37 points were both career highs!

the SD70 picked up the other cars that stayed perfect on track also none of the engines are going to be scraped all of them stayed on track

Dang it…I was hoping that SD70M would bite the dust!

they would have rebuilt that SD70 if it had been wrecked
