Detailing HO Atlas RS-3, Kato RS-2 locos

I have been working on detailing three of these models to match Delaware & Hudson prototypes. I removed the cast on nibs with grabirons and lift rings, carved out the twin sealed beam headlights and replaced them with single Pyle headlamps, and lastly removed the two single horns and replaced them with 3-chime Nathans (I think).

Last on the list is to replace the cast on radiator fans with something more realistic. Do any of you know what manufacturer offers such a thing? I was unable to find anything specifically for this loco from Detail Associates, Details West or Cannon. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried Bowser yet? How about looking in the Walthers catalog?

If you are talking about the top fan, it would be fairly simple to just cutout or remove the simluated mesh and instal your own mesh. Try micro-mesh. Walthers carries it. Not sure about who makes it. The micro-mesh is in a diamond pattern. Also, the craft store Michael’s has some fine metal mesh. Their’s is in a square pattern. I’m not sure what there was under the mesh on the RS’s for fans or blades that might show.
