How to properly word the # of intersecting tracks and give this crossing a name - for example, if one track intersects another or 2 tracks intersect 1, or 2 on 2, how are these properly worded in the universal railroad terminology?
What?
2 on 1 diamond; 2 on 2 diamond maybe.
Cardinal compass direction per timetable, compounded by name of the track you are on.
it’s always been a diamond in my book.
The proper term is crossing frog, but the issue is which one (?) at a place with one track crossing two or more other tracks, at grade, in a given place.
If in doubt, consult the timetable and the rulebook.
