Did I goof

Sunday night a CSX southbound on the A&WP sub went by me with the horn continously blowing. It was from a least 3/4 mile north to at least 1 mile south. Because my wife was feeling poorly I did not call it in even though we both discussed the continous blowing. Is there any thing in the rules stating the meaning of a continous horn?

It was most likely a stuck valve.

Were I the engineer I sure would have been looking for that circuit breaker

While I am sure hearing the horn from your distance was upsetting…imagine that you are the crew with the horn less the 50 feet from your ears. The crew doesn’t want to hear it anymore than you do.
