the forum went down? I sure did! Very good to see it back up this morning.
I really need to get a life.

I was terrified!..my favorite web site down!..it started last night about 6 pm and didn’t get back up until this morning…even e-mailed the webmaster at kalmbach wanting to know what the deal was…hey!..i’ve subscribed to the magazine for years…they ought to keep the site up and running …Chuck
Yes, I did since Iwas right in the middle of an article. I use this to get most of my information.

I thought for a minute that I was going to have to do some work; fortunately, it came back up.
Chewed my nails to the quick, went through complete withdrawal, then did what I was supposed to be doing anyway, went out and ran some trains. Glad to see it’s back up, though.

I had the same problem as rripperger - I actually had to do some work this morning instead of keeping up with my friends on the MR forums…
On one of the cowboy forums I frequent, the site would go down maybe once a month. We all had an alternate place to go when the site was down. You know, to ask each other questions like. Is it down? etc. Then we’d post at the alternate site until the original was back up.
I just figured you guys had an alternate I didn’t know about.
http://www.bbfree.com/uprrforums/ this could be our throw down forum if it ever goes down again…Chuck
I couldn’t get to sleep until 1:30am (other issues involved, not just this one).
My internet stopped working after yesterday morning. So I guess I didn’t miss anything anyway.
I spent the entire evening and into the wee hours of the morning setting up our new computer. (Setting up = installing software and programs, moving out the old, moving in the new, dealing with short monitor cables, [:(] etc.)
After I finally got done, I rewarded myself by logging on (~2:30 AM) but couldn’t get into the forum. Oh, well. I was a bit bummed but should of been in bed anyhow. I guess If it needed to happen, I’m glad it happened last night.
Tom
I’m really surprised that no one else seems to have commented before I posted this thread. A couple of days back we had that lengthy thread about how many log on at work and during school, so I KNOW there are a couple of dozen who need a regular ‘fix’.
Yet, no explosions, no obits, no demands for an explanation from MR, etc. Are we the only ones who began to turn blue?
Not that the lack of one allowed the other but during the down period I laid and wired the tracks in the industrial area of my layout. Got some tweaking yet to do but aside from that the first level is complete (track-wise anyway).
I also got the inital painting done on a structure kit that I hope to assemble during my next four day break. Have been putting the new mold to task and have two thirds of the bridge abutments done for the reversing loop that will run across the industrial area.
What can I say, it’s a three and a half by twelve shelf and space is at a premium. [:D]

The antenna at my local PBS station was hit by lightning back in last November. I didn’t get to watch that station for four months. I just stopped watching TV after a while. So I’m glad to see Trains.com is back online after being offline for only half a day.
Besides, I actually earned my pay for the week today.
I actually got out of the house about an hour earlier this morning.[:D] Most mornings I tell
myself “just a quick look, and then off to work”. Well, an hour usually passes before I finially
leave. Good luck, Dave
Wow, guess I am not alone[:D]
I came into the den with a full bowl of iceream all ready to sit down and chat with some folks, fire it up and get the message on the website… I woke the cat up with a "Oh, are you [censored]ing me? " I was forced to read the news… I am inbetween my layouts right now with the one being torn down, and bench work barley starting… This forum is the only thing getting my fix.[8D]
Glad to always wake up at 9:00.
The only thing good about the forum being down, was I got about two more hours sleep.
Stan
I didn’t … however, my comments today, Apr 14th at 09:33:22, on “Our Place” in the Classic Trains forum makes reference … check it out.
One really never knows what one has until it’s gone!
See ya![tup]
