Is there anyone out there who makes just a sound decoder for the afore items mentioned. I would want something more prototypical than just the “SoundTraxx Galloping Goose”, too! A sound decoder that would just emulate the sound of a diesel engine, would be terrific in a doodle bug, a mack railbus, a speeder, or a trolley. I’m still surprised that I can’t find any manufacturer who makes such a sound decoder. There are more items that run on the tracks besides just trains! If anyone knows of any manufacturer who makes just a diesel running engine, without train whistles, bells, and train engine sounds, please let me know! Thanks guys! -artguy Ps:I have a brand new “powered” brass Mack railbus AB, that this decoder would sound fantastic in!
Check the Loksound decoders - specifically the European files. They even have a sound file for a VW Bus and - believe it or not - a horse drawn streetcar ! The horse gallops fasters as the speed increases !
Many of the small european diesel switchers sound just like trucks … I used one in a hi=rail truck and it sounded great. Just gotta think outside the box a bit.
Mark.
Artguy,
Maybe you can get in touch, with these people I know they carry sound only decoders, for all the things you mentioned, they may be able to tell you which one will work the best for your application:

Agree with Mark, check out some of the Euro loco sounds that Loksound has, there are a bunch of diesel/mechanical and diesel/hydraulic as well as gas/mechanical options under the Euro sounds that might be what you are looking for, or closer than a Goose anyway.
They even have a VW track inspection car - so an original Beetle motor sound.
