Guys-
I bought some of these but dispite my best efforts (and heeding the instrucions) the little fingers seem to collapse on nearly all of them. Is this a common problem or am I just a doofus? Any way to remedy? They look ggod and the price is right…
Mike
I have done some of these. Sideframes must be glued to the bolster ends using normal styrene compatible glue. I used MEK and let them set for a little while as the styrene fuses together. The Tichy trucks are a little more delicate than many being sold today.
I did a Google search for tichy trucks and found some useful info but in another forum that I would rather not post here. Zealot should give you an idea.

I’ve done some of the Tichys and, yeah, the little fingers do like to collapse. Just make sure they are pushed all of the way in and they won’t come apart…at least the few pairs that I have done. I have also replaced some with Kadee trucks.
Rich, I believe you are thinking of the styrene Tichy archbars. This is a whole different truck. The trucks with the fingers are made from a slippery plastic and are made to pivot at the bolster.
Ok, I have never used those.
