I have installed a Digitrax DN136 decoder in my McKeen Motor Car project. Unfortunately, I managed to wire the rear power truck to the wrong rails and undoing that wiring was going to make a real mess. The easiest solution was to reverse the wires to the front truck and add a value of 1 to CV 29. So far so good. However, the headlight now comes on in reverse and not in forward. Actually, I would like the headlight to just stay on in both directions, so what CVs do I need to reset to what values to achieve this? Before you pounce and tell me to read the manual, I have read the manual, and the solution is not obvious or I would already have done it.[:D]
So, to the experts, please tell me in simple terms what I need to do.
I think your answer lies in function mapping. From the Digitraxx web site I down loaded the manual v2 (01/2014) for the DN136D. At the top of page 65, headed 9.12.1 it talks about no directional control of both white and yellow outputs.
If I only have one headlight and I want it on regardless of direction, I’ll sometimes cheat and attach both the white and yellow wires to the front headlight ! Quicker than trying to decipher the manual sometimes !
I had thought about doing that but I assumed that the yellow wire was buried in with all the other wires coming off the decoder which are glued into a very small space. I just had another look and the yellow wire is quite accessible. Its on the top of the bundle.[D)]
