Digitrax DN163K0B Decoder Programming

I have an n scale Kato F3A locomotive with a DN163K0B decoder in it. When I put the locomotive in reverse the front headlight turns off as it has direction lighting set up on the decoder. Is it possible to set this decoder up so that in forward the light is on constantly, but in reverse the light blinks like a mars light. Alternatively is it possible to set it up so that in reverse it stays on but is dimmer? If so, how is this accomplished.

Thanks,

Kevin

Try setting CV49 to 104, this will set the headlight to be on in forward, dim in reverse or if you activate F4 (Rule 17 dimming). I don’t think you can make it flash in reverse, each funtion output can have only one value set which determines how the effect works directionally and what that function is - there’s not option for steady forward, blinking reverse.
If you want to know how I got that - downlaod the Digitrax Decoder Manual from their site, pages 40-43.

Randy,

Thanks that worked perfectly.
