DIgitrax Service

After an unfortunate accident over the weekend, my Digitrax Zephyr suffered a total meltdown. It was our fault as my son was using it and forgot to turn it off when he went to bed, leaving my brand new On30 Spectrum Shay running. At some point in the night, the Shay derailed and shorted the Zephyr. It stayed that way all night. Evidently, the circut breaker got tired of cycling and fused closed at some point. We woke Saturday morning about 6 to the smell of something electrical burning. One Digitrax Zephyr toast…and possibly my new Shay. Went to the club layout Sunday afternoon late and my Shay is fine. No worries there. Since I live in Georgia, only about 70 miles southeast of the Atlanta area, I drove to Norcross today to Digitrax, and told them my story. They said that even though we caused the short, that the circuit breaker should not have failed, and they swapped my burnt up on in on a brand new one. What more could I have hoped for? All I can say is that is some great customer service.

No where near as bad, but I had a Proto 2000 with a solder bridge on the decoder socket. I plugged in the decoder it ran for a couple feet and stopped. I sent it to Digitrax and it was replaced.

Better that I can say for the brand new Proto 2K–which Lifelike refused to fix.

WOW!![:0][:D] That’s great. Guesse we know whose decoders you’ll be buying

Recently I found I had 14 volts to my program track on my zephyr. I sent it to digitrax with a note describing the problem and they fixed it and sent it back, free of charge, within 2 weeks. [bow] Digitrax!

Excellent to hear Digitrax has such good customer service.

Although I don’t have a Digitrax system, I sure like their decoders. I’ve tried other brands of decoders now and then (NCE, Lenz, TCS) and I keep coming back to Digitrax. I love their highly tunable back EMF settings and their lighting functions look absolutely outstanding.

Soundtraxx is the only other decoder I use a lot – but with Digitrax’s new reasonably priced sound decoder on the horizon, I suspect I’ll be even more of a Digitrax decoder customer. [swg]

Try doing that with a product made in China –

Another reason that I try to use only decoders that are made in the USA – Digitrax, TCS, SoundTraxx and NCE.

I know their service on decoders with problems is excellent–speaking as one who seems to have to try twice on about every second decoder I install. Their service policy and departments are excellent.

This is another of the reasons we went with a Super Chief over some of the cheaper alternatives. Way to go for customer service, Digitrax!

The few problems that I have had with Digitrax equipment, all decoders, were corrected without delay and without charge. Good stuff, good service and good people, on the telephone or via E-mail.
Can’t wait for their sound decoders. If they are as good as the rest of the Digitrax products they should be a real hit.
