Digitrax throttle upgrade

I have been thinking of upgrading my Zephyr from my UT4 to a DT400R wireless. I noted from the Digitrax web site that the DT400R has function 0-12 directly (using only one button) only on some command ststions. They did not say that this is true of the Zep. If I get the DT400R, will it give me functions 0-12 with one button each?

Yes.

The DT400R’s will give you access to F9 to F12. I do it on my Zephyr layout every week.

I don’t know what they are talking about WRT command stations. Perhaps the old Challenger set is what they are talking about? Put it this way, the Zephyr, Empire Builder and Chief sets have no problems accessing F9 to F12 with a DT400.

Edit: BTW, you should be able to test this with your UT4, since it also has the ability to use F9 to F12…

sorry tryed to type this in befor I went out
my typeing is the pits

Paul,
From your reply, I think you missed my point. I want to access 0-12 WITHOUT using two buttons. Sorry for the vaguery. I will edit my post. Thanks,
BB

Budliner:

You addressed this to Bind Bruce, but since you wrote it for everyone to read, I’m addressing it:

Your remarks - in part -
“…that Zephyr systems what the heck yours still word so ebay it …”

Did I mis-quote you?
Did you read it (before sending)?

Bruce,
Yes. All 12 functions may be addressed with single buttons using the DT400R on the Zephyr. That’s what I have. I also have a UT4, and you’re right, the shift/function thing is a bit cumbersome.

Bruce;

Paul understood. The DT400R will provide you one button F9-12. The point Paul was making is that some Digitrax systems will not support F9-12 in any form. Given that the Zephyr supports it in two button form, it will support it in one button form. The signal that is sent to the command station is no different. The throttle sends the same signal when two buttons are pushed for F9-12 as it does when one button is pushed.

sory don you are right I did jump too fast
I will have to recheck more and type less hastly

Thanks to all. I now know what to ask for my birthday. Anybody want to sign the card???
LOL, BB

According to the manual, the SEB’ DB150 only does F1-F8. I would hope for a change in the future but not holding my breath. jc5729
