Hello,
I live europe, Sweden. I currently run ROCO loco mouse2 but I want to upgrade to a more complete system. The only commonly availabe systems hera are Lenz and Uhlenbrock, And Zimo but that is to expensive. I Find Uhlenbrock to much “Märklin”, So Lenz is fore me?
By the information I have found on the Internet Digitrax seems to an alternative to Lenz, but the only comparisons I have found is Digitrax to other North American Systems. So my question is Lenz or Digitrax ? What I am comparing is Lenz Set100 and the Digitrax super chief.
I cant answer your question, but are eager to see any contributions since I am in the same position.

Hello Wim,
I hope we get some answers then[;)].

I don’t like to bash a particular system, but all my experience with Digitrax has been negative. Runaway trains, illogical throtles, ect. Even with the radio version (which may not be legal in Europe) you HAVE TO PLUG IN TO ACQUIRE A LOCOMOTIVE. That means you MUST build fascia plugs into your layout EVEN IF YOU GO WIRELESS. That strikes me as absolutely goofy. Lenz has had some availability problems in the US, but it IS a European system and what little I have been exposed to it has created a favorable impression. I use EasyDCC, but I don’t know if it is available or pratical in Europe.
Pick one that is available locally, and that you can find other users. I have Digitrax, and happy with it. In your situation, I would go with Lenz.
