Dimmable Lights on a P2K GP20

Good morning all. I spent the night last night pouring through cv charts and 3 different manuals and a few internet searches and still couldn’t come up with a solution for this one.

I recently purchased a P2K GP20 with QSI sound that was set at the factory to run long hood forward. I was able to reverse it in CV29 so it now runs short hood forward. However, I ended up loosing a feature it came with that I really liked. If the lights were on it would run full brightness forward and then if switched to reverse, the front light would dim and the reverse light would come on. Now that I have changed the direction of the loco it’s the reverse light that dims. I tried changing the values of CV’s 33 & 34 but that just gets me straight directional lighting with no dimming at all. Anyone run into this and know a way to change the dimmable light to the “front” what used to be the “rear” of the loco? Physically reversing the LEDs?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I believe this has been brought up on the QSI list on Yahoo Groups. Bottom line - there’s a severe lack of function effects in the QSI decoders, and what you want to do I don;t beleieve can be done with the current version of QSI firmware int e decoder. The updated version just released (check Tony’s, they are the official reseller of the upgrades) might have added some of the ‘missing’ elements.
