Disassembling a Rivarossi Berkshire tender

Anybody done it? I tried but I can’t pry off the bottom even after unscrewing the trucks. It’s a tight fit and I don’t want to crack it. This is the 50th Anniversary model #5437.#### I intend on installing an LED backup light. The trucks only pick up one rail, but I can isolate the rear tender truck wire and reverse the truck to get full DC into the tender. I will lose full pickup but that seems like the only way on this non-DCC ready loco, except a battery.#### Thanks to all,#### Rob

The chassis is held on by the drawbar pin, which doubles as a screw. Just take that out like you would a normal screw, and the chassis will lift right out (be careful not to lose the tiny nut for the screw). This is how my 70s era model is put together, and I’m assuming the new ones are the same.

Thanks Darth.
