Cool [8D]. So where is it?
Thanks, I’ve never seen one up close. Can you explain a few of the symbols? Are there trains on there?
Do dispatcher communicate via lineside signals or is verbal communication with crews required? Also do you guys use email communication with crews?
Thats neat.have you ever seen your territory that you control?? Do you get to watch the garrett sub on CSX?

It’s great that people in this profession can figure these out and direct the trains as such, I don’t think I could do it and admire people who have to.
I will reply to all of your comments when I get home later tonight. Joe, I will post a couple shotsof the garrett sub and one of fostoria.
Chad T. I do look at that screen but I do not dispatch it…That is Erie, Pa
NP Red - I added another picture explaining a few things.
Ulrich - We do both, we do not use email
Joe - Yes, we are required to ride trains every year to see our territory. Yes, I had to watch between chicago, willard, newcastle…ect as a chief. (lucky for me I dont anymore). I also added a few shots for you…

The CSX Winter Contingency Program is in full swing.
The prayers for Spring have been sent!
I listen in on the Fostoria webcast, in fact am listening in now. I realize that Fostoria has it’s own CSX subdivision. What exactly does that mean?
How is the dispatching of trains thru the sub handled? I hear trains will often radio F tower and ask for status and routing thru town. Does F tower work in conjunction with the dispatcher to move the trains thru? How are the priorities established? It sure seems things move pretty smoothly thru there, with all the action.
thanks,
Ed
BTW Welcome! Any Fostoria fan is a friend of mine! [#welcome] - a.s.
