Display idea for the collectors

Personally, my preference goes for a nice museum-quality diorama. IMO that would be the best way to really showcase your favorite collectables. Operators too could use this method when their trains are not running.

The wall of trains is fine for most, I guess, but to me, is a bit boring, tho often colorful b/c of the trains themselves.

I hope you don’t mind me posting a link here from another forum of an idea to showcase your trains that I consider novel but effective…

Very nice but I don’t think I’d want to be the one in charge of dusting that display!

FJ and G: Interesting…I wonder how many of us have the room…Maintenance: Got to “ditto” Chuckn’s comments. Thanks for the post.

A thing of beauty to be sure! I just wonder what percentage of the man’s life was spent building and staining trestle bents? To me it looks like the Zen of repititous tasks and would have to be some kind of manual, digital (finger based) mantra used for soul purification.
Never the less, I wish I had one, and the space to keep it!

these trestles can be built pretty quickly using jigs

as to dust, the trains themselves collect it as well. That’s what maids with little whisk dusters are for [:D]

That is really stunning:

I use a leaf blower to dust my collection.

The trestle would take just a couple of days to build, it really looks more awwesome than it really is.

I’ve come full circle to respect collectors but I think they can showcase their collection better than a bare wall!

That sure is a neat idea to showcase trains! The fellow who owns that display must have a Dust/Dehumidfier in his basement in order to help keep it clean? I know some folks do it just that way. Take Care all.

Nice!

I have those same chairs in my Den.[:)]

FJ and G,

This is a very interesting way to display your trains! Rather than a static wall display, the trains are more scenically displayed on the wooden trestles, almost like on your tracks.

Too bad that I don’t have the room to build something like that. I’m actually running out of wall space to display my trains.
