Ditch Lights Cheap!

Hi Guys! I was playing around today and had a thought about ditch lights ,I had some 12 Volt Incandescent Bulbs 1.7mm Laying around so i tryed one they work great! For H.O. not Bright Bright But it works Heres a pic

Anyone else done this ?

Carl - I hope you do not melt the pilots on your engineswith those lamps - I use LED’s - no heat.

Here’s an even cheaper solution - Model the 1980’s or earlier and you won’t have to worry about ditch lights.[8D]

Nice ditch lights. I’ve done something similar. I put in 1.5V grain of wheat lights on my CN genesis D75I . You can’t see it too well in this photo but they work great. I also installed front and rear lights (including ditch lights) on a Dummy CP AC4400. I used the 1.5 V bulbs , a spaghetti like wiring diagram and an AA battery. I have a wire coming out from the rear (not very noticeable) that is used as an off on switch. Crude but it works. Since I run DC I can run it end to end with a Powered loco.

It works for me!
