Ditchlights on RS2's/3's?

I’d like to know a couple of things

1)–were ditchlights used on RS2’s/3’s et al. in the 1970’s/80’s —and if so:

  1. a good source for N scale ditchlights or some such----

1.Ditch Lights was not widely use in the 70/80s…I know the N&W,SOU/NS,PC/CR Chessie/C&O/B&O/WM or CSX didn’t have 'em…They became mandory in the mid 90s.

  1. Depends on th prototype. IIRC, canadian RRs had ditch lights and saftey cabs before american RRs.

  2. Don’t know.

Lamoille Valley added lights on their RS3 rebuilds in the 80’s.
