Yes, but I have not set it up yet this year.
Edit I never did set it up last year (2004 when I originally posted this message), but this year it went up last Friday with the tree. My HO scale LL P2K Berk is happily pulling a string of three cars and a caboose around a loop of Bachmann 24 inch radius track (with the ballast sections that snap together) and there have been three days of operations with no derails or uncouplings (Kadee #58s).
PS. I have no children yet or animals to knock the locomotive off the track. No way I’d run a LL P2K Berk if I did!
Same here. It’s just not back up yet.

I don’t have a layout, but just a train and few of those “something 54” buildings. I know there is a name in front of the “54”, but I can’t remember what it was.
It’s called Department 56.
Anyways, I have a loop of track and a passing siding under my tree on which my FEF-3 pulls a string of freight cars. Not very Christmasy but it works…
No tree. No trains under tree. And I wouldn’t put any of my high end locos under a tree anyway.
What is Christmas without a train under the tree. Trains under the tree is a must for the children and or grand children. You can see the sparkle in the eyes of a child when they are permitted to run a train. I always have my fathers Lionel trains running under the tree just like he did when I was a child. They may be prewar but run like champs.
I just finished bending the track and glueing down fake snow for this, its now under the tree, no pics of that yet, but heres my G guage Xmas train.
The track is custom bent down to 18" radius (24 radius is smallest commercial track in G)[:D]
I have a lego F7 pulling 2 budd super chief cars full of little yellow people.
No, but I did have my tree under the layout for several months.{storage}.
I did for years but then my wife went out and bought one of those new trees that have the branches that go to the floor. We can’t even put presents under it, we stack them in a corner, lol. She still won’t admit she doesn’t like it.
[:D]Nothing a chain saw or a Dremel can’t remedy![:D]
TIMBER!

I don’t have one this year yet, but it will be set up soon.
Here are some from last year
I hate the branches that go all the way to the floor as well, but a train can still be put around these. We still have a 15+ year old 6 1/2 foot tree out in the garage that has plenty of space for a train under it, and I prefer it for this reason. It will probably still be set up somewhere in the house, and, of course, have its own train under it.
I run my 40-year-old lionel set under the tree.
We have a G guage layout under the tree. We also had the problem of too low of branches so we just eliminated (did not install) the lowest level of branches this year. Worked out great.
For the first time in 4 years we are setting up a tree and setting up the Lionel and Marx 3 rail trains under it.
It won’t be anything elaborate, just a couple of ovals.
Vsmith,
Way cool! No Scrooge at your place! We put a Bachmann G set under the tree this year and it improved the Christmas atmosphere 100% over last year! We also had the problem of the low branches. Got some 6 inch thick cinder blocks to put under the tree stand - can’t see them once the tree skirt is on.
I have three trains around my tree. Around the base of the tree on a circle of track is a prewar Lionel standard gauge train dating from 1918-23. Then, there are two loops of O27 track that curve around one end of the tree and then keep on going until they reach the other end of the room and curve back. The presents go beside the tree inide of these tracks. On them, I have runing a postwar Lionel UP Alco with a freight and a prewar Marx streamlined CP steamer pulling a train of 6-inch, 8-wheel freight cars. To complinent the trains, there are a large ceramic 50’s style diner and bowling alley that have fibre-optic lights.
Well, my stepmom has a G set, but this year we are going to put it out on the back patio, I think. Otherwise it will run around the living room.

We don’t celebrate Christmas, hence we have no tree. Thats money that could be spent on modelling.
