I took this photo of a recent purchase and was wondering if you could guess what it is a model of.
Only Southern Rwy. and Norfolk and Western ordered the high nose version.
Care to guess? [:)]

My guess would be a locomotive. Seriousley I do not have a clue but it looks good. Mike
Why a GP-30 of course! [:D]

Dang it Randy!!! You don’t play fair!!! [:)]

A very recent purchase indeed. But I think you need to replace that #5 with a #158… It looks like it’s bending the steps & pilot down!
Why doesn’t Randy play fair? It’s obviously a GP-30.
Just one with a high short hood.
Andre
Hmmmm… now that you mention it, it sure is! Gotta correct that!
Thanks Jeff.

There is only 1 locomotive model with that extra ‘attic’ along the top - that being the GP-30, so it’s a dead giveaway. Want a tougher one, look at a high nose GP-50. Just seeing the side of the cab would not give it away, unless you knew the number series.

Since I’m fairly new to this hobby, I was wondering… how many locomotives have that type bell on the front?
Jarrell
Bell position and horn type/position is highly dependant on individual railroads. That bell position is kind of odd, but I’ve seen others like that. --Randy
