There was an article in trains about his temper / hotheadedness back in the 90s, I think about a year after the merger. I read somewhere recently that he has calmed down quite a bit.[8D]

There has been much passion exhibited on this forum about Montana and the Milwaukee Road. I think your description gives us a rather analytical look at that part of the world.
Chad…I seem to recall the same thing. Perhaps retirement has calmed him down somewhat. It is one thing to be yelling at people about running a railroad, quite another to be yelling at the wife and family.
Anyway, he can be viewed as a visionary. He no doubt took some major crap for spending all of that money on BNSF, but look at them today.
