Do you use DC or DCC

Thought I would see if I could get an idea of which is the most popular at this time. Obviously DCC is gaining ground but do most home layouts use it yet.
Has MR or any other publication done a recent study on this question?

Their’s a third choice, DCS.

I switched from DC to DCC and never looked back.

I am currently using DC but when the new RR gets built it will be DCC.

DC…cause I’m too lazy to switch…and cause that would mean either earning the money myself (Year and a half hard work!) or asking my parents for it (Fat chance!)

I sometimes remind myself of an old cartoon, from the early days of my model railroading when plastic kits began to appear at the LHS.

Fred Flintstone lookalike (years before Fred!) leaning on a cut stone counter at the LHS, checking out a box held by the (similarly clad) counterperson. Caption, “I don’t care what anybody says about these newfangled metal kits. I still prefer stone!”

I’m happy with my DC system, faults and all. Converting to DCC is not on my present or forseeable future agenda.

Chuck

I use DC…for now.

I use Dynatrol analog carrier control system and it works great for me, it is also used by most of the members of the group I belong to.

Right now, I have DC while I build my layout…but I will eventually switch over by next summer.

DCC for ME

DC for now.

Converted with little effort from DC to DCC about 13 months ago.

I wouldn’t even consider running DC again. Being able to run 2 and 3 trains easily at one time on DCC. I didn’t think I could run more than two trains before DCC. And I was right!
But it was because of DC that I was limited. Too many distractions such as flipping switches, etc. Really having fun again!

I should have gone to DCC years ago.

I’m not sure I can really answer, because I’m planning my switch to DCC in the next two weeks or so (Financing is finally available with my birthday). Otherwise, I have been DC up to this point.

Alright, legitimate poll. [tup] I have DCC. I use a MRC Prodigy system. It works great for me, but I don’t know what I will brand/system I will use on my new layout.

Matt

I use DC, for now. I’m preparing for DCC.

I got a Digitrax BigBoy system when they first came out. Don’t know what year that was? I have never considered going back to DC. I don’t want to talk too enthusiastically about DCC, it up-sets some people!

Todd Templeton

Just ordered a Digitrax Super Empire Builder set today.

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

Due to size of my industrial switching layout I went from DCC to DC…I just can’t justify DCC for a one horse layout when my MRC CM-20 will do the job.

After reading this I am a little suprised?!?!?!!?
Just a couple days ago I was trying to dedice on DC or DCC and nobody who has DC said a word? IF all of you feel so strongly why would’nt you say anything? Anyway I decided to go with a DCC System for my new railroad. And as always, Thanks for your support.

I started out with DC then bought the Bachmann E-Z Command and a couple of decoders for my two locomotives to see how I would like it. Haven’t looked back since. Now with the purchase of the NCE Power Cab, it’s even more fun. [:)]

I am starting a new layout. DCC all the way. Just today I bought a digitrax zephyr starter set
