You can get graffiti decals check walthers: http://www.walthers.com/exec/search?quick=graffiti&quicksrch_butt.x=0&quicksrch_butt.y=0

Somebody posted this link just the other day. Maybe you can make your own decals?

I downloaded some graffiti fonts and print my own.

very small gangbangers

It’s atcually really easy to do your own graffiti on your rolling stock. Gel pens work great, just apply them before the dullcoat in the normal panting process. I practiced on scrap paper first then when I had the look I wanted I just did the same thing on the model freehand and it came out great.

If you need inspiration there are tons of picturebooks availible at most larger bookstores on the subject, or just take a camera and get some shots next time you go watch the prototypes. It may seem like a lot of artistic skill is needed, but remember, most graffiti is simple single colour line and letter drawings made by people with little to no artistic skill or formal training. I find that boxcars and covered hoppers seem to be the most frequent targets of graffiti around here in the Great Lakes and out east.

Cheers!

though there is nothing on e-bay from him right now you ay want to check from a seller called mellow mike. he is considered a grafiti guru since his stuff usualy sells for 600.00 pluss per item. here is his web site mellowmike.com

here is a site I just saw today looks like great work price? http://weatheringman.googlepages.com/freightcars

I do all of my graffiti by hand. The decals aren’t realistic, unless you touch them up. Even the hand painted graffiti has to look realistic. Theres one guy that ones here, that does great graffiti, but I can’t think of his name.

True Line Trains is/will be doing some CP versions:

Instead of graffiti I will have railroad agents walking the track with rifles. [4:-)]

No grafitti here.

Shoot some trains with your digital camera. Upload your images to the computer and print the graftitti onto decal paper should work great.

Walthers catalog shows grafitti availible.

Or round up some dudes, give them big spray cans and magnifying glasses and have em have at it.

Some of the graffitti on the UP mainline are getting clever these days. They paint the whole car over and replicate the necessary railroad markings neatly in hopes that the artwork will be permitted to stay on longer.

I gotta disagree with this one. Most hand painted graffiti that I’ve seen done doesn’t loook realistic. It lacks the fine detail in colcors of real graffiti and looks way too think since it was applied with a pen or brush and not a spray can like real graffiti. On the other hand, a decal, when created and applied correctly will give an exact replica of real graffiti and be far more convincing.

I don’t have an address but there’s a fellow named Speedy Gonzalez who lives in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and who does tagging for free; all you have to do is pay a Coyote to smuggle him across the border and then provide him with fifteen HO Scale cans of spray paint.

You can find some pretty good stuff on ebay, just search “weathered” , select Toys and Hobbies in the catagory column and you’ll usually find some decent stuff at good prices. Before you bid make sure to check the gauge, I made the mistake of bidding on N scale once and won the auction. I model HO.
