I was wondering if anyone knows why the logos have been removed from the Safe Handling Rail Inc.'s locomotives? The ones I see are GP-15s #1501 & #1507, which I see almost every day.( former Conrail units leased from Locomotive Leasing Partners LLC, “LLPX” reporting marks) I have already modelled GP-15 # 1507 WITH the company name & logo from the photos I took of it in Oct. '03 , and in the last three months the logo and company name have been removed and/or painted over. Does anyone know the entire roster for SHRI? Any info would be helpful
Safe Handling lost the rail contract, taken over by the Morristown & Erie bunch in a bidding war last year …they just retreated to their cross-dock operation at Auburn, ME…The GP-15’s will eventually diasappear, hope you get ALCO’s as a replacement.
Appearntly they weren’t SAFE

good joke Doggy! [:)]
Thanks to mudchicken for the info [:D], and I just heard on the local news the other day that the Maine Eastern Railroad is now operating the trackage from Brunswick, ME to Rockland, ME, and that they are going to install new grade crossing signals at a lot of crossings that have never had them before.
Maine Eastern is owned by the M&E (Morristown & Erie RR) of NJ. They operate the line under contract with MDOT. Recently MDOT funded a significant upgrade of the line in hopes of eventual Amtrak passenger service over the line. The crossing improvements are part of the State program.
