Does anyone know how many of the new SD70ACE's have been delivered to BNSF so far?

My understanding is that the full order = 100 units.

I’ve seen some nice photos here of assorted units. Any idea how many are on the property?

well, so far that I’ve seen 9370-9387 are on the property.

…I think there’s only 30 units on order too.

BNSF originally ordered 30 and then ordered another 80 for a total of 110. I’m not sure how many they have.

As of 4/16/06 BNSF has 9370-9378, 9380-9387, 9389 on the property. And according to our employee website they changed there order again back to 30 for now, and that was updated 3/29/06. That is why the numbering stared at 9370 going to 9399. Would like to see a lot more of them.

Have you gotten to run any yet? How are they working out?

No I haven’t gotten to run one yet. But I have heard from some of the other engineers that said it is a good pulling unit, but what they didn’t like is the cab is not a whisper cab like the 70Macs. Just a little bit noise. Other than that it sounds like most of the engineers like them. I am still waiting patiently to run one.
