Does ConCor still exist? Answered - YES - and current web address

In googling instead of asking Qs here (which means that I re-invent the wheel and only I gain the information… but whatever…) I have stumbled on a Concor website… It appears to be of 2003 vintage. So - I’m wondering…

  • do they still exist?
  • are they independent or part of…?
  • do they have a current website?

No, I don’t want to do a further google search and Wikepedia doesn’t help.

Yes, I am feeling grumpy this evening.

But I will feel really happy when I get lots of good answers. [(-D]

Yes, Con-Cor still exists. Their offices are in Tucson, Arizona. The most recent products of theirs have been the Burlington Zephyr train set and AeroTrain in HO and N scale.

The old web site you ran across is not unusual for some companies. Their current site is at http://www.all-railroads.com/

The owner/founder is getting ready to retire, so there’s no telling what’s likely to happen with the company since it’s a minor player in the market.

Con-Cor’s website says it was just updated Oct 15 2006. What site you were you on…??

Try: http://www.all-railroads.com

They do still exist, but it sounds like they are cutting back due to their owner’s imminent retirement.

I had a gut feeling that they were going to do a model of “The Worm”. That is one that I may have to get, along with the Aero Train. I am definately seeing a trend of what kind of models (types of passenger trains) to expect from them from here on out.

Some parts of the site have very old dates, and may or may not have been updated. Other parts like new items are current

They are still shipping trains. I just received my add on car to the Zephyr set last week.

They did put out a press release saying they would be retiring in the near future, but no word exactly when that will take place. Lest hope someone purchases the business and continues the line.

If the owner is retiring soon I hope he keeps the company going with another interested party or someone like Walthers takes them over and not Horizon. I hate to see companys leave that catalog. I always find something new in the Walthers catalog everytime I look through it. Horizon is to complicated.Just my thoughts…

Thanks everyone!

Interesting thing is that the site I found talks about the owner retiring… I think that I should stress that it also specifically states that they do not intend to close and that they are planning new products… Hope they suceed in keeping going.

Thanks again everyone

I wish I had a dollar for every company that has said that right up until the day they closed their doors for good.

We really don’t know. But we do know that they have been putting out things for the past few years that noone else is doing. And they are (and I guess I has to say supposedly) working on the Galloping Geese. So, at least to this point, they are doing what they say they are doing.
