I have been up to shoot pictures twice and wouldnt you know it, the pic of the tower to deck truss mounting area either has a tree branch or does not have the detail I need.
My question is, does a tall steel trestle bent have a welded or a pined bridge shoe where the truss deck joins at the bent.
i also have several photos of this bridge, none with great detail of the above area…Thanks in advance for your replys…as I am so close to hi greens…John
None of the pictures I have of the structure have that detail either. I even looked at the Keddie chapter of the “Empire of the North” DVD. Sorry.
Same here, John-I even checked my video of RIDIN’ THE HIGH LINE which has quite a bit of footage of the Spanish Creek viaduct, and it doesn’t show the placing at all–like you said, too many trees in the way. Maybe a hike down from the Keddie side of the wye is in order? Looks less steep than the other end, at least.
BTW: Thanks for the pictures–your rockwork is TERRIFIC!

Hi Tom… Glad the pics arrived and thank you for the kind words. Thinking now bridge shoes will suffice. Have a lot ot get done, the April WP Convention is in Chico and if things work out…may have an open house.
