Does the "search" function have any special features such as "posted by:" ?

I can’t find a reference to this anywhere.

Not sure if you can “search” for post by, but then there are a lot of things on these forums I haven’t learned how to do yet. However, if you are looking for posts by a certain poster, if you can find one of their posts, click on their name (ie. cowman). It will take you to there profile page and there you will find “search for posts by.”

Hope this helps,

You can put whatever you want into the search box and press enter. Once you do that you’ll come to a page that will have, along with the search results for what you entered, a selection at the top for “more search options”. When you select that, you’ll get a page with about 5 different search options, including “written by”.

Thank you. That should be a big help.

Another fairly easy way to find the posts by a specific user is to simply click on the post count under their name at the left side of one of their posts.

This runs a search using your user id number. In your case:

userid:217604

If you want to write a search by hand, you can write e.g.

user:HaRRyHotspur

in the search box - and it will give you your posts (observe that the search is not case sensitive).
