This layout looks like a model RR trackplan, but it’s not.
It actually exists on the DC metro/CSX ROW in Alexandria near Cameron Station.

Here’s a shot of the wye track heading for the loop, taken from a VRE train.
that would be great for a 6x 12 layout in the next issue of CTT,
make sure they give you credit for it. My only question is, did CSX and Metro use O72 curves or not?
BTW I really enjoy your posts since I used to live in NOVA. I started in Alexandria, and used to go the water park at Cameron station. Then moved to Chantilly and now I’m in BBURG.
I grew up there too. WestPoHS.
You could watch the trains on the Southern and RF&P from the wave pool at Cameron run. Someone could stage a O. Winston Link pool photo re-creation there. Eisenhower Ave (Yellow line between beltway and yard) was a great shortcut no lights and faster than I-95 in that area. If you went east from there there was the PAL go-cart track. and even further was the old Southern roundhouse near where Eisenhower joined Duke.
Hello Dave ! Where’s the slasun cutoff on the Trackplan.?[;)][:)]…Keith
