Donation from The Lawrence Scripps Wilkinson Foundation

We are please to have received this donation of the Nickel Plate Limited, Alco PA-1 ABA Diesel Locomotive and 7 passenger car set from The Lawrence Scripps Wilkinson Foundation.

The NKP introduced two handsome new streamlined trains between Chicago and Buffalo (the NKPs tracks did not extend east of Buffalo). The trains were named the Nickel Plate Limited (flagship name), and the second train the New Yorker (eastbound) and the Westerner (westbound), on an alternate schedule between the two cities, via Cleveland.

No. 10044 Alco PA-1 ABA diesel locomotive, along with its streamlined 7-car lightweight stainless steel Pullman-Standard designed train, No. 10045 and No. 10045B, represent an accurate model by MTH of the handsome Nickel Plate Limited in O gauge as it would have been seen in the 1950s.
